Paisley's community groups get behind town's bid for UK City of Culture 2021

Renfrewshire’s community groups got involved in Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021 at a sold-out community planning conference held in Paisley on Friday 11 March.

More than 100 community organisations came together to plan how local communities can benefit from Paisley’s bid.

And they heard from Paisley ambassadors – Bid Director Jean Cameron; Engage Renfrewshire chief executive Alan McNiven; Alan Clark from Create Paisley; and Tommy McGrory from local youth music organisation Loud ‘n’ Proud - who urged them to show their support for the bid, which resulted in a #PaisleySelfie or two. Check these out below.

You can show your support for Paisley's bid by posting your message or photo using #Paisley2021 on Twitter and Instagram - and you too could appear on our social wall.
