Alan McEwan, director of Brick Lane Studios and Productions, tells you about the changes he's seen in Paisley since the town's bid for UK City of Culture 2021 was launched 2 years ago.
I’m Alan McEwan, director of Brick Lane Studios and Productions. We’ve been trading in Paisley now for three-and-a-half years and in that time we’ve built up a business that provides music rehearsal, production services, film production services and music tuition.
Over the past three-and-a-half years we have seen such a transformation and change in Paisley, in terms of its cultural activities and its relation to the way that I believe Paisley people now feel about the town.
Since the bid was launched two years ago to be UK City of Culture 2021, we have seen such an impact in terms of cultural activity in Paisley.
We also have seen a growing partnership between local business and the cultural services around the town. I think the Paisley 2021 team have been at the core of that – bringing everybody together to work together, collaborate, create events, drive footfall into town and make sure everybody has a great time in Paisley.
Paisley is definitely on the up.
