Spotlight on: Medieval Fayre
Step back in time as Abbey Close transforms into a medieval campsite for the day. Featuring weaponry demonstrations, live falconry displays, an outdoor hog roast, medieval storytelling and fun for all of the family.
Here is what’s on between 11am and 4pm.
Inside Paisley Abbey
Watch “The King’s Mother”: The Story of Marjorie Bruce puppet show - at 11:30am, 1:15pm and 3:30pm
Experience the Regal Story Tellers including a special knighting ceremony - at 12:30 and 2:15pm
Join in the arts and crafts station by designing your own shield, stitching teardrops and colouring in - all day
On Abbey Close
Go inside the medieval camp and experience a medieval kitchen and get involved in crocheting and basket weaving
Handle custom-made weapons, learn about their evolution and see demonstrations of how they were used
Get dressed up in helmets and chain mail - then smile for the camera
Watch the falconry display
Feast on the hog roast and sweets
Have a picnic under the star marquee
Play games, dress up as knights and get into the stocks
Get your face painted
