Paisley's culture bid reaches 2,021 mark on Twitter
Bid bosses at Paisley 2021 are celebrating this week after the campaign passed the magic mark of 2,021 followers on Twitter.
@Paisley2021 set up last year to support the bid and has now gained its 2,021st follower this week – and bid chiefs say that’s thanks in no small part to the Paisley Daily Express and its own #WhyILovePaisley campaign.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Mark Macmillan, Chair of the Paisley 2021 Partnership Board, said: “This is yet another sign of the growing momentum for Paisley 2021 and we’d like to thank each and every one of our followers for their support.
“We’d also like to thank the Paisley Daily Express for their #WhyILovePaisley campaign which really kickstarted the conversation about what the bid could achieve for Paisley.
“Social media is such a great tool for engaging with all sorts of people and the amount of Paisley 2021-related activity you see, not just on the official Paisley 2021 account but all across social media, shows that the bid is really capturing imaginations.
“We have some exciting news to announce soon about plans for people to share their stories, and their ideas for a year of culture in 2021, and social media will again have an important part to play.”
