Caledonian Tyres back Paisley's bid for UK City of Culture 2021
A local tyre firm have rubber stamped Paisley's bid for UK City of Culture 2021 by throwing their support behind the town's ambitions.
Caledonian Tyres, who are based in Paisley and supply tyres all over Scotland and the north of England, are the latest firm to back the Paisley 2021 bid.
The town is bidding as part of wider plans to use its unique cultural and heritage story to transform its future.
The Caledonian Tyres workforce are all from Paisley and the local area and with plans for expansion soon, there are high hopes for a bright future for the company and Paisley itself.
Caledonian Tyres MD Robert Kaey said: "There really has been a massive buzz around the town recently with all the events and promotion of all the things that make Paisley a great place to live and work.
"It's been a strong campaign and fingers crossed it's a successful one, regardless the process has had major benefits for industry and commerce in the town."
The company's trucks and vehicles will also be sporting Paisley 2021 'Back the Bid' logos to spread the message while on the road.
The firm have recently been boosted by a £250,000 investment, with funds going towards the latest green technology machinery.
Rachael Goodwin, the firm's PA, added: "We've had a really hectic year with all the new equipment being installed and the renovations to the factory but it's all been worth it, everyone at the company is hoping we win the bid.
"It's been fantastic for the town - a really positive campaign.”
