Press boilerplate

In a press release, a boilerplate helps journalists and consumers know more about you. If a journalist or blogger is writing about you, a boilerplate can help them easily get the copy they need for their article.

Feel free to add these words to anything you issue to the media:

Paisley was the only Scottish representative to make the five-place shortlist for the title of UK City of Culture 2021 and was the first UK town to ever be shortlisted for the competition. The UK City of Culture 2021 competition is run by the UK Government's Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Paisley's bid was always part of a wider journey to use the town's unique culture and heritage story to transform the town's future. The bid saw a new partnership of local people and groups unite behind a shared vision for the area’s future, while new alliances were formed at national and international level, showing what Paisley can offer Scotland, the UK and the world. This will continue to drive the regeneration journey.

The one-time global textile hub and birthplace of the Paisley Pattern is also home to stunning architecture, an internationally-significant museum collection, Glasgow Airport, University of the West of Scotland, West College Scotland, PACE Theatre Company and a thriving contemporary cultural scene.
