Halloween Film - The Lost Boys- (15 Cert)

Join us to celebrate 30 years since the release of The Lost Boys. This classic American horror comedy directed by Joel Schumacher is the tale two Arizona brothers who move to California and end up fighting for their lives against a gang of local vampires. The title refers to Lost Boys in J. M. Barrie's stories about Peter Pan and Neverland, who, like the vampires in the film, never grow up.

Murder Mystery Night

Friday Fright Night

Get dressed up and drop in for some devilishly fun and family-friendly activities! Have a go at ‘make and take’ arts and crafts, follow the spooky Museum Train to win a prize or enter our best dressed competition. Part of the UK-wide Museums at Night festival the Friday Fright Night will feature:

  • creepy crafts and hair-raising green screen photos
  • spine-chilling music from our scary string trio
  • terrifying comics from Comicrazy (on sale in the Lecture Hall Dungeon)
  • alarming animation workshops
  • eerie appearances from the members of the 501st Legion

Haunted Spooks by Walk the Plank
Paisley Abbey, 12.30pm – 5.30pm

Set in front of the Abbey doors, this specially-commissioned-for-Paisley interactive design is fun for all the family.

Go ‘backstage’ and meet the costumed Halloween performers, choose from a selection of props and then pop your head out of the window for a memorable Halloween photo!

Plus, look out for Halloween walkabout and street entertainment around Abbey Close from 1pm – 5.30pm

 

Halloween Activities
Paisley Town Hall, 12pm – 10pm

Loads of family fun in the town hall with a busy afternoon of Halloween-themed activities.

Eventmania will have face painting, soft play, arts and crafts, a kids disco and more family favourites; and the LEAP team will bring you a ‘green Halloween’ with recycling workshops, the ReMode pop-up shops and a zombie apocalypse. Food and drink stalls will also be available to keep your hungry horrors happy.

The Town Hall Crafter and Confectionery Zone will also provide a mix of bespoke crafters  showcasing hand made jewellery, accessories and a variety of other products, with a range of confectioners offering candyfloss, tablet and baking, all complimented by a welcoming bar
offering tea, coffee and soft drinks.

 

Saturday Cinema

A small town comes under siege by zombies, who can save them? Only misunderstood local boy Norman, who talks with the dead. In addition to the zombies, Norman take on ghosts, witches and worst of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson star as a quartet of Manhattan-based "paranormal investigators" in this classic comedy horror. When their government grants run out, the former three go into business as The Ghostbusters. Armed with electronic ghost hunting paraphernalia, the team is spectacularly successful, ridding The Big Apple of dozens of ghouls, ghosts and long-legged beasts but can they capture the giant stuff-puff marshmallow man? Drop in and carve your Halloween pumpkins in to a piece of art with the help of the team from Dom Art. Adult assistance is welcomed suitable for all ages . No booking required

Make your Halloween prop with our artists or get a scary balloon sculpture from the Balloonatic Day of the Dead Character. Remember to have them with you when you join in the parade!

There are some gruesome tales from Paisley’s past – do you dare to listen to them? Join the Village Storytelling Centre in the Abbey as they regale you with some hair-raising stories!

Our spectacular Halloween Parade produced by Outdoor Arts Experts Walk the Plank is always a festival highlight!

With a Winged Fire Monster on a Paisley Chariot led by Flame Oz, plus the Spark! LED Drummers, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners Band, large dancing skeletons and lots of groups and participants all in their spooky Halloween costumes, holding their themed Halloween LED Lanterns this is one not to be missed.

Walk the Plank’s spectacular Fire Garden installations, soundscapes, projections and illuminations will make for a real spectacle in Abbey Close, plus look for the Halloween walkabout stilt characters amongst the installations.

 

The Fire Stage will play host to the electrifying and fiery Flame Oz, Mr.Wilson’s Second Liners will present their 90’s fusion music, club sounds and party vibes, plus the spectacular Spark! LED Drummers.

Halloween Film - Halloween (1978) – Cert 18

Halloween is a classic American slasher film directed and scored by John Carpenter, starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis. The first installment of the famous Halloween franchise the film introduces us to the now classic horror figure of Michael Mayers. On Halloween night in 1963 Michael murders his sister and is sent to Smith’s Grove Sanitarium but  on October 30, 1978 he escapes and returns home to kill again. Maximum capacity of 25 people.

Song, dance, laughter, tears and joy. A history of Witches, The project is funded through Renfrewshire's Culture, Heritage and Events Fund as part of Paisley's bid for UK City of Culture 2021.
