The 15th annual MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards comes to Paisley as it bids for the UK City of Culture title in 2021.

Known as the Folk Oscars, the 2017 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards will showcase and celebrate the very best of Scottish traditional music to folk fans from across the country.

This year’s ceremony will see some of the biggest names in Scottish traditional music perform, including Elephant Sessions, The Shee Big Band, Siobhan Miller, Tidelines, Paisley Fèis, Snuffbox, The Seamus O’Sullivan Experience, Lori Watson, Jenna Reid and Harris Playfair, Songs of Bàrd Phàislig (featuring Gillebrìde MacIlleMhaoil, Sìneag MacIntyre, Màiri NicAonghais, Seonaidh MacIntyre, Ewan MacPherson, Mhairi Hall, Màiri Nic a Mhaoilein).

First started in 2003, The Scots Trad Music Awards generates over 100,000 worldwide public votes from across 16 categories including: Album of The Year, Live Act of the Year, Gaelic Singer of the Year, Event of the Year, Composer of the Year and more. 

The MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards will be broadcast live on BBC ALBA and BBC Radio Scotland as well as being available worldwide via BBC Alba.
