The fund is designed to support Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021 by raising ambition, getting people involved in culture and unlocking our area’s creative potential, while building the capacity of the local creative scene.

What sort of projects will we support?
Successful proposals will demonstrate a compelling connection to Paisley’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021, strengthen cultural activity in neighbourhoods and town centres across Renfrewshire, enhance the annual cultural calendar in Renfrewshire, and showcase the talent of Renfrewshire, not just locally but in other parts of the UK.
The money could be used to support new events and festivals, learning opportunities or improvements to existing projects.

Who can apply?
Any organisations and individuals (including community groups and professional artists) from Renfrewshire, who wish to create or develop cultural or heritage activities specifically inspired by Paisley’s bid to be UK City of Culture in 2021.

- Artist collectives, cultural organisations and networks
- Businesses including creative industries
How much can I apply for?
Applications will be considered in three categories – funding up to £1k; funding between £1 and £10k, and funding from £10k upwards.
There are two funding rounds in 2017 - the deadlines will fall on 1 May and 1 September.
